In September 2008 a group of intrepid individuals will take on the challenge of a lifetime, cycling 933km across the Pyrenees. This unique event brings together a team of committed waiters, chefs and managers from the Gondola Group of restaurants and a number of their friends from the UK’s leading business people and from the world of sport.
The team will be boosted by support from the ex-England rugby players Lawrence Dallaglio and Damian Hopley, plus Britain’s top free skier Warren Smith. They will be cycling from Biarritz to Banyuls, near Perpignan in just 8 days, climbing almost 2,000 metres every day.
This event will test more than just personal endurance. The team has also taken on the challenge of raising at least £175,000 for Bliss, helping babies born too soon, too small, too sick
From March through to September 2008 a range of fundraising events will take place.
